Title:Accountant Technician - Student Assistant

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the University to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSU Dominguez Hills is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSU Dominguez Hills is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.


The accountant is responsible for the entry, analysis and maintenance of the general ledger, as well as understanding in accounts payable and disbursements, cash management support monthly and year-end close support. S/He will work closely with the Accounting Manager and report directly to the Controller.


  • Bank and investment reconciliations

  • Prepare recurring journal entries

  • Prepare internal billings to the University

  • Preparing accounting schedules to support month end and year end close

  • Analyze and reconcile accounts

  • Provide financial support to departments by producing adhoc reports and research in the accounting system

  • Other duties as assigned


Education: Completed intermediate accounting courses


  • Solid understanding of basic and intermediate accounting principles

  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and pronouncements from Government Accounting Standards Board

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tool especially EXCEL and WORD


  • Pro-active, detail and result-orientated

  • Able to coordinate multiple projects and meet strict deadlines consistently

  • Effective working in self-managed projects or as a team member

  • Ability to adapt quickly to challenges and changing environments

  • Solid organizational skills with a track record coordinating all aspects of projects from inception through completion
