We are looking for a web technology lead to join our IT team! Do you know what it takes to run a modern website? A website is often the first impression a customer has of a brand and an inconsistent or confusing website can make or break that relationship. Are you eager to partner with the business to understand the needs of our website and deliver? Without an expert driving technology choices and design standards the website can become unwieldy and hard to manage. You will be responsible for day to day management of our web portfolio and work with the business to make changes. You will know when a change can be handled internally or when a 3rd party should be engaged.

What You'll Do:

Prepare and oversee long-term web content plan and strategy for website development and presence, including standards, security, and guidelines based on business goals and input from stakeholders

Partner with various business units (Creative, Comms, Legal, Safety, Operations, etc) to gather requirements for iterations on the current design and planning for future iterations
Manage external vendors and agencies
Project management of internal and external communications campaigns in regards to technology requirements and implementation
Define business opportunities and build out requirements and design documents
Assist in building the underlying website platform(s) for new and migrating websites; ensure ease of access and workflow, permissions, roles, etc. to meet client needs
Stay immersed in the latest trends in 3rd party vendor technology offerings
Resolve issues that arise with the performance of the web site; ensure optimization of user experience. Work may include reformatting text, assuring hyperlink integrity, transferring and translating files, and posting of new material to the page involving HTML scripting. May maintain web site content and information flow
Responsible for creating and implementing effective end user experience, which may include design, web content, and mobile computing experience
Configure analyze, and report statistics regarding all relevant website metrics
Evaluate third-party features and services for functionality, accessibility, security, and maintainability; adapt/improve search engine optimization
Find, diagnose, and fix content problems, including broken links, typographical errors, and formatting inconsistencies
Use website analytics to evaluate and propose layout and content changes to achieve website visitor engagement
Research, propose and oversee development of new website features and functionality to meet internal and external users' needs
Work directly with website content authors and external vendors to oversee the timely resolution of technical issues with the website.

About You:

5+ years managing web technology

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated success record with developing and managing websites
Experience working with external design agencies
Experience working with internal Marketing, Communications, Creative or similar teams
In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related web site development technologies and software
Familiarity with a range of programming and scripting languages
Expert knowledge with modern CMS platforms (Contentful, Hubspot, Wordpress)
Familiar with website hosting platforms (Pantheon, Netlify
Ability to successfully manage vendors, escalate technical issues to resolution, and influence 3rd party product roadmaps
Ability to explain technical features to non-technical customers/clients.
