Certified Nursing Assistant ( CNA ) - OakView Health Center

Department:Skilled Nursing
Salary/Hourly Rate:$15.50 - $17.50 Per Hour

OakView Health Center is currently hiring Part Time CNA's to work the PM shift! (2:30pm - 11:00pm)

The primary purpose of the CNA position is to provide care to residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents’ assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. 


  • Provides nursing care to residents according to daily assignment.
  • Assist residents in the activities of daily living including but not limited to: ambulation, bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, personal hygiene and activities.
  • Performs nursing activities in compliance with the written plan of care and using established policies.
  • Documents daily care provided to all residents with the EMR system
  • Demonstrates proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) with accuracy in accordance with facility policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Observes and reports changes in residents’ condition to the charge nurse and documents same.
  • Assists in transporting residents to and from activities.
  • Makes regular rounds on assigned residents, anticipates residents’ needs and provides care in a respectful manner.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences and contributes to care plans.
  • Maintains residents’ belongings in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of universal precautions, infection control and isolation procedures.
  • Washes hands before and after each resident contact.
  • Responds to each residents call light promptly
  • Assists in the admission, discharge, and transfer procedures as directed by charge nurse.


  • Promotes/protects resident rights.
  • Follows established performance standards and performs duties according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Works efficiently to complete assignments and meets deadlines. Able to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments effectively.
  • Follows instructions carefully. Discusses deviation from procedures with supervisor before acting.
  • Complies with abuse prevention & reporting policies and procedures.
  • Participates in staff meetings and mandatory in-services as required and maintains updates certifications and licenses.
  • Attending in-services throughout the calendar year, completing all in-services above 70%
  • Uses chain of command to communicate problems or grievances.
  • Maintains cleans, orderly, safe working environment for all residents and staff. Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates appropriate action immediately
  • Other duties as specifically assigned in writing by supervisor.


  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Competency Program, with current certification in the state of California
  • One year of experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred
  • High school graduate, or equivalent
