Job Description

Under the general supervision of Mills Peninsula Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services, practice and provide pharmacy services in the following areas: clinical, distribution, teaching, literature search/clinical writing, administrative, and other assigned duties.  Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacists will provide specialized and comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the Mills Peninsula Emergency Department.  Additional staffing shifts cover all units at Peninsula Medical Center and Mills Health Center; remote coverage at Menlo Park Surgical Hospital, and after hours pharmacy support for the Sutter Santa Cruz Maternity and Surgical Hospital. Meets Mills Peninsula Health Services (MPHS) minimum required standards by complying with policies and procedures, including attendance, annual in-services and training, dress code, licensure and certification. Works in support of regulatory compliance assuring that MPHS maintains full accreditation and compliance with state and federal regulations. Exceeds standards of conduct by providing excellent customer service, performing duties in a safe, ethical and honest manner, demonstrating teamwork, and respecting coworkers.



Qualifications

Pharm.D required.  Current Licensure in State of California is required. Satisfactory completion of an Acute Care Pharmacy Residency program (PGY1) or equivalent hospital inpatient experience is highly preferred.  Completion of a specialty pharmacy residency (PGY2) in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or equivalent experience is desired.   Active certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS must be obtained within 3 months of hire (if not already obtained) and then maintained throughout employment. Proficient verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.
